The pCPA was established in 2010 with the aim of achieving greater value for publicly funded drug programs in Canada by leveraging their combined negotiating power.

We’ve evolved and grown as an organization since that time, but this mandate remains at the heart of the pCPA today and is reflected in our values, vision, and strategic direction.

Our vision

To support the sustainability of publicly funded health care systems through world-class drug price negotiations.

Our strategy

Our 2026–29 strategic plan provides direction for the pCPA’s continued evolution. Centred on the theme Driving Change, Delivering Impact, it recognizes the complex and changing environment in which we operate and identifies ways to anticipate change, be more agile and innovative, and maximize our impact.

Our strategic plan is rooted in 4 strategic dimensions that form a framework for sustained growth: people, process, performance, and strategic relationships.

Strategic plan

Through this new plan, we’ve carefully reviewed and renewed our mission, vision, and values, with our core purpose remaining unchanged: to support public drug plans to better deliver value for Canadians.
